Khun Parichat reports that Plai Somchai has gone outside the Sublangka Wildlife Sanctuary several times. Khun Pichai explains the activities of the Elephant Reintroduction Foundation to Senator Kraisak Choonhavan. Khun Kraisak is President of the Wild Aid Thailand which has undertaken the study of the wild elephants in Khao Yai National Park. Khun Vinai, our field staff at Lampang camp, is applying herbal treatment to Plai Sukhum with a moplike applicator. เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนาม (วินัย) กำลังประคบยาให้กับพลายสุขุม เนื่องจากเป็นโรคบวมน้ำ (Ventral Edema) โดยใช้ตัวยาสมุนไพร ที่ทำมาจาก เปลือกประดู่ และหญ้ามัยลาบ นำมาต้มให้เดือด จากนั้นทิ้งไว้ให้อุ่นแล้วนำมาประคบบริเวณที่เป็น เพื่อลดอาการบวม
Plai Sukhum has the same symptom of VENTRAL EDEMA or RAMBONG in Thai. พลายสุขุมเป็นโรคบวมน้ำหรือลำบอง (VENTRAL EDEMA)

Khun Patana reports that Mor Tom arrived at the Lampang Doi Pha Muang Wildlife Sanctuary to examine the sickness of Pang Buathong. Now Pang Buathong is vaccinated for disease which is called Rambong. หมอต้อม สัตวแพทย์ตรวจอาการของพังบัวทอง ณ เขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าดอยผาเมือง จ.ลำปาง ซึ่งหมอต้อมได้ฉีดยาเพื่อรักษาโรคอาการบวมน้ำแล้ว

Bana grass are planted by our field staff. Our elephants love to feed in Bana grass. เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามปลูกหญ้าบาน่าซึ่งเหมาะสำหรับปลูกในเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าดอยผาเมืองเพื่อตัดหญ้าสดไปใช้เลี้ยงช้างได้
The Mae Pon creek flows by the Foundation's Lampang lodge. Looks like a real nice place for home stay. Mae Pon is an important water source for our elephants. บ้านพักปางช้างอยู่ริมน้ำแม่ป๋อนซึ่งเป็นแหล่งน้ำสำคัญของเขตขรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าดอยผาเมือง
Nirad, our Foundation field staff in Lampang watches Pang Morakot drink from the water well. Although the recent rains have swelled the creek, the water is still muddy and she prefers the clean and sweet water from the well. คุณนิราศเฝ้าดูพังมรกตอย่างใกล้ชิด
Plai Sukum is smart too. He relishes the fresh water from the well near the Foundation's Lampang Camp. พลายสุขุมรู้สึกดีขึ้นแล้ว เขากำลังดื่มน้ำในบ่อน้ำบริเวณปางช้าง
Patana drives down from Chiangmai and visits the Lampang Camp. She reports that Plai Sukhum's tail swells from an infection.
