Our elephant specialist from Mae Sarieng, Suppachai, has studied this photo and says that the white core of the tusk can be seen, meaning that it is unlikely that the tip of the tusk will naturally regrow itself again. Also, he said that care must be taken to ensure that infection does not attack the core or the tusk will rot and fall off. In Suppachai's experience, the tusk will regrow and become pointed again as long as the inner white core is not penetrated.
Furthermore, Suppachai noted that the elephant has a hole in the upper lob of his right ear, marking him as an elephant originally from Mae Sarieng, not from Surin from where he was delivered.

ศุภชัย เจ้าหน้าที่ภาคสนามชาวแม่สะเรียง ซึ่งเป็นผู้ที่มีความชำนาญเรื่องช้าง ดูรูปภาพงาของพลายพลังแล้วกล่าวว่าตรงใจกลางงามองเห็นแกนกลางสีขาวหมายความว่างาคงจะไม่งอกออกมาอีก และต้องดูแลรักษาความสะอาดไม่ให้มีการติดเชื้อเพราะถ้ามีการติดเชื้อ งาจะหลุดออกมาได้ และจากประสบการณ์ของศุภชัย ทำให้ทราบว่างาจะงอกออกมาได้อีกตราบใดที่แกนกลางงาสีขาวไม่ปรากฎ
นอกจากนี้ศุภชัยได้ให้รายละเอียดว่า หูที่มีรูเจาะของช้างตัวนี้เป็นลักษณของช้างที่มาจากทางแม่สะเรียงไม่ใช่ช้างที่มาจากสุรินทร์
